Buying Guide – How to Choose the Best Light Up Letters for Table
Choosing the right light up letters involves understanding your specific needs regarding size, power, and design to ensure they enhance your event perfectly.
Size and Dimensions
The physical size of the letters determines where they can be placed. Look for models around 8 to 9 inches tall which are visible from a distance but still fit on standard tables.
Measure your display area to ensure the letters will fit without crowding other items on your table or shelf.
Power Source
Most table letters are battery operated to offer flexibility in placement. Check if they require 2 AA batteries and ensure you have a way to power them if you plan to use them for long events.
Battery operated signs are ideal for locations where electrical outlets are not available or where cords would be a tripping hazard.
Material Durability
Durability is key if you plan to reuse the letters for multiple events. High quality plastic is common and should be smooth and sturdy to resist cracking during transport.
Look for reviews that mention the build quality to ensure the letters can withstand being moved around frequently without damage.
Light Color and Quality
Warm white LEDs are generally preferred for a cozy atmosphere while some models offer other tones. Ensure the light does not flicker or hurt the eyes during extended use.
Check for claims about the LEDs staying cool to the touch as this is an important safety feature for any lighted decoration.
Mounting Options
Consider how you want to display the letters. Some come with keyhole slots for wall hanging while others have flat bottoms for stable table placement.
Versatile mounting options give you the freedom to use the same letters for both wall decor and table centerpieces.
Letter Availability
Ensure you can buy the specific letters you need since most products are sold individually. Check if the brand offers a full alphabet and numbers to create complete messages.
Some sets include symbols like hearts or ampersands which can add personalization to your display beyond just standard words.
Price and Value
Prices vary depending on the finish and features of the letters. Budget options are great for temporary events while premium finishes like glitter may be worth the extra cost for special occasions.
Evaluate the total cost if you need to buy multiple letters to form a word rather than just looking at the price of a single unit.
Ease of Use
Look for models with simple on and off switches located on the back. The setup should be straightforward without needing complex wiring or tools.
User friendly features save you time and stress when you are busy setting up for an event.
How to Use and Care for Your Light Up Letters for Table
To start using your letters, insert the required batteries into the back compartment and turn on the switch. Make sure the batteries are fresh to ensure the brightest possible light output.
Place the letters on a flat surface or hang them using the keyhole slots if you want a wall display. Ensure they are positioned securely so they do not tip over easily on a table.
For long term care, remove the batteries when the sign is not in use to prevent leaks. Store the letters in a cool dry place to maintain their material integrity and LED functionality over time.
